I find, as ever, you need to research a bit, I"ve seen none on the motorways but the "A" roads usually have large Agricultural garages that sell LPG. I use a good one on the main road, just outside Rosslare when I head to France.There"s also another just outside Newry on the old A1, and then there"s a good suplier in Bangor near where we live, tho" I use my brother inlaw"s LPG tank as he once had a Ram on LPG and that gets me to most places in NI on one fill.
 
I filled up with LPG at Autogas Ireland in Cork today, its on the Harrington Industrial Estate close to the southern by pass :thumbup:
 
What a wonderful country, we have been going for a least once a year for about 10 years, on motorbikes, tenting and hoteling. Every year we find somewhere even more beautiful than last time.
Are going to save up and take rv with bikes very soon as have a very good friend lives near "Giants causeway", come on NI, where we will hopefully meet Paulo.
Then move south for a few weeks.
I personally just laugh from the moment I get off the ferry, there such laid back funny helpful people.

You are so right , the first people that looked down and ignored us when we passed them were brits in a Euro van yesterday.
The Irish are so warm and friendly :thumbup:
 
Today we drove from Dungarvan to Glenbeigh, overlooking Dingle Bay.
It has been a warm sunny day, beautiful scenery, rolling hills , cloud capped mountains, dairy herds in the green fields , masses of bright yellow gorse contrasting the lime green leaves of the spring growth on the trees .
Finally we pitch on site overlooking Dingle Bay and the distant mountains , then a walk into the village and a couple of pints of cold Irish Guinness that slipped like black velvet to where it belongs -

Don't know why but the Guinness in Eire tastes very different than the drink they serve up in the UK

Sounds like most people find the folk so very different over there - I know a few years ago we were over there and there was a tap on the caravan door most nights telling us what was happening at the village pub - asking us to go down and telling us we would be most welcome there.

We have friends over there and are planning to return again to see them and have a little celebration for a few days :thumbup:
 
Hi Larry sounds as if yu are having a great time over there. Whats the wild camping possiblities like over there. Is it feasible in a 34' RV.

Looking to go over next year for part of the summer.

Hiya

I think wild camping would be limited as most laybys have height barriers to restrict gypsies. We have not seen any areas that could be used but will look out as we travel and post if possible :thumbup:

A long day touring today, we left in toad at ten and got back to site at six, but what a day :thumbup:
A chill wind but sunshine and 12 degs all the way .:001_cool:
We headed for Tralee and then west towards the western most point of the British Isles at Slea Head and the islands close by.
On the way we stopped at Rough Point and its picturesque fishing port, then on to Brandon Point.
Lunch was in a typical Irish pub and served with typical Irish warmth by the landlady.:thumbup:
We then crossed the Conor Pass, wow what scenery, to Dingle and then on to Slea head before heading back to base at Glenbeigh.
A great day out with loads of photo's and weather to match :thumbup:

That's a pathetic effort...:biggrin::biggrin:, Chris at Peterbourgh show. Rvoc/Rally area only,, she took 210. Then there was more from rest of show. If she does not have the camera with her then the phones get a hiding...:001_rolleyes:

Glad its not the old 36 on a role as we would be bankruped and the local photoshop would have a job for life...:thumbup:

Today , Friday we toured the Kerry and Skellig rings in the south west of Ireland , incredible weather, sunny all the way and the scenery is breathtaking, mountains, plains, clear blue sea, rivers , waterfalls and everywhere in glorious spring colours.
To end the day a pint of guinness and an Irish coffee :thumbup:
 
Arrived at Galway on site fronting Galway Bay and although a fine day it's now chucking it down, first rain in the 8 days since we arrived
Had a good journey from Glenbeigh , lovely scenery again but people here are less friendly, perhaps big city attitude
No wi fi so I'm off:001_smile:
