Hi Having spent the weekend in the RV just 2 miles from home on Aberystwyth Seafront for Friday and last night, and Shell Island (well worth the trip, I will post more on this one an try and add it too the RV Friendly sites section later) between Barmouth and Harlech on Saturday night, I have a meeting in Bristol Tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10 then Wednesday and Thursday we need to be close to Swansea center.

I have no problem where to stay for Bristol as there is plenty of space where I have the meeting, however for Swansea as we will have no car just Push bikes and won't be able to be far away from the center has anyone got any ideas? I now there is someone on here from the area but I'm afraid I cannot remember who!! I guess if all else fails we can stay out and get a taxi in for both days but that may work out expensive depending how far we end up staying from Swansea center, I have seen a couple of options at the top in RV friendly's but all quite far out so taxi job.

We're not actually fussed if it is not a campsite, just a good safe (in Swansea  ) layby or better still a pub carpark would be just fine.

Sorry for the late question but I was planning on just travelling from home each day in the car but then this crazy idea just came into my head to take the RV and stay over!! So..........Any ideas please??????

Thanks

Steve

Don't think there is any in Swansea you would be looking at a fair distance out or as you say a pub or possibly a industrial estate for the night ?

Have you tried Britstops for a pub ?

Hi Steve
we are from swansea, there is a campsite just off the M4 called riverside caravan park, I know they have had rv's there. It's about 4 miles from Swansea, but there is a cycle path that goes all the way in to swansea.
What is the name of the site you stayed at between Harlech-Barmouth? my parents live up there so always up and down.
Good luck

Hi Kaye,

www.shellisland.co.uk basic facilities but very peaceful!!

Just been looking at the site you suggested and will probably give them a try.
Plans have now changed slightly as we now seem to have a free day tomorrow, Elaine is very pleased, me not quite so pleased!! If I had known tomorrow would be free I would have just done today at Bristol in the car and then drive back home and back to Swansea on Thursday, I've got wayyy to much work to be taking a day off at the moment!! But I'm sure I can survive it

How flat is the cycle path into Swansea? I assume plenty of hills to go up and down? Elaine can't cope with the hills especially for that distance!!

At Cardiff now just called in to see a couple of jobs then heading towards Swansea.

We did look in Britstops but not really any ware suitable which is a bit of a shame

And yes the idea of coming home to the RV after work is great fun!!

Thanks for all the help!!

Steve

Hi Steve
The cycle path is all flat as it follows the path of the river to Swansea and continues to Mumbles.
Thanks for the camp-site name shell island not far from my dad's.
