Hi
Only ferry I could get to take us and the moggy from Portsmouth to Santander arrives at 1800 31 October. Not keen to travel at night so looking for a stop easy to get to not too far from A67 south for overnight. I know there is a shell garage where the trucks stop and there is the new LPG garage at Los Corrales, but has anyone else found anywhere useful?

Last September we drove from the Alicante area to Santander via the A-31,A-3,Madrid, and A-1 ¾ of the journey being at night, now most of the roads mentioned are dual carriageway, however there was numerous roadworks with contra-flows and the Spanish tend to put their roadwork signs and concrete lane barriers a lot closer to the road edge than in the UK.

This caused one to drive away from the road edge and either on or slightly over the dual carriageways centre white line :001_smile: that's okay until someone behind wants to pass and they re-discover what mummy bought them for Xmas, a bloody HORN

Santander stopover

That's what we found on our trip back last year. In fact there were cones in the middle of the road which had been blown across by the wind and we ended up going right over one. No damage thank goodness. Another reason why we don't want to travel at night.
