We're off to south of france around dec 19/20. Planning to sail from Newhaven to Dieppe with our 38' holiday rambler vacationer, got a fantastic quote of about £ 260 return for my big bus ! I've been looking at all sorts of websites for ' RV friendly ' campsites but it's driving me mad. Any ideas in terms of really nice sites with decent amenities etc. Going to take our little scooter so don't mind being out of town.
Cheers if you can help.
Mike

Hi,
Not many stay open at that time of year, but according to The Big Pitch Guide
Camping a club Holiday Marina is open from March to January the 2nd, and its at
Port Grimaud, the place itself is lovely, the site owner is English and hasn't got
any social manners!!!!!
There is one at Villeneuve Loubet Plage that's open all year called
La Vielle Ferme, it says RVs up to 36 ft maybe worth contacting them
Anyway good luck with finding somewhere, and hope you have a brilliant time
We've been down there loads of times but we go in June and September.
Someone on the forum will pop up with help :thumbup:

Hi we went down through France & into Spain over last Xmas & new year.

We stayed at a site on the spainish boarder which was ok, but if you were to push on in to Spain for a few hundred K's the there are some great sites that will take you...

Last year xmas eve, temp on motorway at lunch time waiting for tyre repair, was 18 C, bit chilly at night, but a lot warmer than here...

Hope that helps a bit, if I can help any more give us a shout...

Ps. Off down there again on boxing day..

For the south of France try:

Camping Domaine De La Bastide..

Open all year & just south of Nimes..takes 40'..

Another one which says they only take 36', but I don't believe it.....

La Vieille Ferme , south east France (on the med)

Lastly, Camping Les Casteillets, another one that says 36' but we pulled on with no problem and it's near the Spanish boarder...

Hope this helps.. Stu..:001_smile:
