Scotland trip

Well done, Lee & Sheryl. I'm jealous!

I will have to introduce you to my wife (Laine) She will not wild camp, too scared etc!

Looks like you are having fun.

We love Scotland, it's beautiful.

Regards

Paul

Sheryl is a bit like that but we pick places that look sort of safe. The RV door is locked and i wake up at the slightest sound and any problems I.would.just start her up.and drive away.or beat the hell out of them with a 2ft nuckel bar that sits just inside the door.
We have wild.camped several times and never had a problem.
There are more home invasions that RVs or motorhomes being broke in to.

And yes Scotland is just stunning we are loving it ,we are 1072 miles in to our trip so far.

Well the Scotland trip has now.turned in to a UK.trip as we are now parked for the night just down the road from lake windermere ,then yorkshire moors tomorrow and peak district later.
Also now planning on going to the Midland steam railway museum in butterly as it's one of my childhood places :)

Well it's all over we are home after
10 days 3 nights in different camp sites the rest wild
1 busted levelling ram
Problematic LPG system (could of been bad gas)
Leaking sink tap
Loose curtain pelmet
Broken ariel cable
Very dirty RV
Even dirtier little smart car toad
1693 miles driving where ever we decided at the time.
Scarborough
Edinburgh
Edinburgh castle
Scotish highlands
Round the NC500
Loch Ness
Loch lomond
Ben Nevis
Lake district
Lake windermere
Yourkshire dales
Peak district
Midland steam railway museum in Ripley
Severnstoke (near Malvern)
Then home.
And what a fantastic trip it was
Now to plan the next one

The solar panels performed perfectly supplied by Adi4 never needed electric hook up at all.

Ah yes balnakeil Bay.. What a stunning beach, and as you said the craft Village too... Smoo cave just as you leave Durness to the east is also worth a visit.

We did go to smoo caves ,car park was full so we parked the RV about a mile up the road at the tourist centre and nipped back there in the toad.

We are staying home this year not going over to Europe and where thinking of the NC500 but the wife has been on the nc500 Facebook group and folk are saying it's a no go in an RV

Scotland is lovely especially the NC500 if the weather is good
but take a small car to tour the single track roadsl pick where you park the RV
mine is 12 mtrs and i would not attenpt the 500 in it
do day trips in a car and leave the RV at suitable places en route
that way it will be a lot less stressful
if you head to the cromarty firth you can see the dolphins if you are lucky

We stopped for the night a hour ish ago after spending the day driving through the Cairngorms we went through on the A93 and A939 and what a amazing drive it was, and that tight hump back bridge was fun. With the hills I don't think the bus has ever had to work that hard lol.
Hi Lee the hump back bridge is that on the military rd were it keeps saying no low loaders hump back bridge ahead but you travel for miles before you get to it just after a sharp left hand bend ??
