Older and wiser now.
Every journey we have done so far has been to get things fixed or modified, and most of those trips have been in the dark and in the rain:mad::sad:.

On Friday, Penny and I are going to embark on our first journey (with the travel dog, of course!) purely for pleasure:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

You could say:- "WE ARE GOING AWAY:lol::lol::biggrin::biggrin:!!"

Yiiiipppppppeeeeee hooorrraaaayyyyy

When i had the first rv it was the same thing as you we used to call them knobs and switches weekends i bought it in a november a lot of cold weekends .I remember going really early one sat morning with light snow and freezing to shepton mallet show it was a crap show then and it still is now Have fun:thumbup::thumbup:

Brampton for one night to see a dear friend:biggrin:.

Then three nights @ Lee Valley Chingford for family get together. One Daughter taking us to a show & dinner in London:thumbup:. The other Daughter's Birthday and big family reunion on Sunday:thumbup:. Then old friends for lunch on Monday:thumbup: before gentle ramble home on Tuesday for work on Wednesday.

Hopefully some sight-seeing in East Anglia Monday & Tuesday in the toad.
 
Excellent, you are going away. We are already away AGAIN . The afternoon has, even without Shirley's help, been beautiful. The sun was out and the temperature rose to 13c. We sat outside, with a couple of glasses of lightly chilled. :lol: Did any of you know, we were away, AGAIN. :001_tongue:

You say without Shirley's help beware young Mike you may regret that statement for you have yet to see the weather without Shirley's help :wink: Trust me I am married to a Shirley of the same persuasion and you do not make statements like that lightly :blink: :001_rolleyes: :lol:

Don't want to be a spoilsport, but isn't the Lee Valley site within the LEZ zone? If you've got a diesel rig, you'd need to check whether you're compliant or not, before entering the zone...otherwise mega fines likely...

I'm sure you've already thought of that, so ignore me if so...:biggrin:

Thank you all the same for thinking of us:001_smile:. LEZ is one of the main reasons I had always planned on LPG (the fact that I spent a number of years a long time ago developing LPG conversions for cars for major manufacturers probably helped me to have a major dislike of diesels:mad::mad: and a love of LPG power:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:).
 
lea valley not the most picturesque site , but definately central for going anywhere in or around norrf london for sure, enjoy your trip !
 
I stayed at lea valley about 10 years ago had thought about going back there but remember a concrete arch we had to go through the rv i have now is taller is the cocrete arch still there and about what height ???? cheers Ron

Definitely no concrete arch:001_rolleyes::001_rolleyes:.

When we spent two nights there in November, there were other RV's on site. Very friendly with excellent facilities.

When we rang last week to book, they remembered us (???) and said they would put us on the same pitch if we liked:thumbup::thumbup:.

We see no reason to go elsewhere on our visits to our Daughters in London. Walthamstow Central Station is only down the road for getting into London.
 
We can conclude no archway any more, and as your petrol no worries.
There is a smaller site next to the "Pie & eels pub by bridge, broxbourne way, which shut when owned by ccc to make way for gravel pit,several years ago, but has reopened under ownership of local council. our old 9 metre used to fit easily. Will try and get up there and find out more !
