HALF PRICE M6 TOLL

Used my Caravan Club card on M6 toll and paid £5.50 instead of £11.00 .
Don't usually use toll because of cost but big hold up on M6 this morning :thumbup:

As we always use the M6 Toll we have saved this year alone more than twice we have paid as membership subscription:001_tongue::thumbup:.

I know a lot of football coaches use the Toll roads as the drivers get a
free lunch etc.

As a frequent user, I find it difficult to understand why an RV and Toad doesn't use the Toll :thumbup:.

I hate all those expansion joints and potholes on the M6, and everyone seems so angry on the M6, pushing in and changing lanes without warning. I feel so hemmed in on the M6 against the smooth surface, gentle curves and plenty of space on the Toll.

I too prefer the toll M6 , far better than the bumpy , overcrowded , narrow lanes of the M6.
Will more readily use it now with the CClub price reduction:thumbup:

I'm far too tight to pay even half price! :laugh: When in the RV I never seem to be as bothered about delays.

The M6 would need to be at a complete standstill for me to use the toll, went on the M6 last Saturday no hold up at all no toll fee, I'm with Jobsey why waste money when you don't need too :thumbup: as for narrow lanes I spent years on that road in a truck don't notice them :biggrin: just my opinion of course.

Larry, from your OP I presume that your RV was classed as a class 2 vehicle or car?

There are 5 classes:

1. Motor Cycle
2. Car
3. Car & Trailer
4. Van or Coach
5. HGV or Coach

How do they asses an RV, which class would an A class be placed?

Just looked a little further on the M6toll's web site and the class appears to be decided by the height at first axle and number of axles

So our 2 axle A class RV would be a class 4 :sad:

Plus he has to pay for it not the company.

Sorry Shirl I was talking about me as opposed to a company, if I was still running trucks then my drivers would have the option to use the toll easier especially at nights and rush hour, having said that if the company didn't pay for it then they would be sending someone out for me if my hours were tight and they wouldn't pay for the toll

I normally avoid the toll, too expensive but there was a 1hr hold up on the M6 so I thought bugger it Im not sitting in a jam.
At £5.50 not quite as bad.

The discount is only for Caravan Club members and you have to produce your membership card before you pay. The structure of the discount is that for any motorhome towing a trailer of any type, the toll is reduced to that of a standard car. Therefore £11.00 becomes £5.50 :thumbup: :thumbup:. At weekends the toll is reduced for standard cars to £4.80.

Returned this afternoon and used the M6 not the toll, bloody mayhem , hard shoulder being used , surrounded by trucks a foot either side and almost as close behind, loony lot, they haven't heard of the two second rule, probably consider they are too good for that, no wonder there are pile ups :blink:

I would guess that the mayhem was due to the road works with 50mph limit between junctions 13 & 11?

Could well be , trouble is they get so tight up your tail pipe
