Surprisingly everyone said you can camp anywhere in Scandenavia. Most of the roads have either barriers all the way along them or ditches. Even small side roads, there were some long tracks we did not explore mainly because of the trailer. But we stopped in picnic places with no problems

Road started to get narrower and with lots of Hairpins. It became very difficult, I was concentrating like mad and missing some of the views. It did start to get a bit difficult with the usual problem that Artics travelling on this road daily were not used to the fact that I was wider than their normal compatriots. Held my breath a number of times as I had one wheel against the Barrier and the lorries still travelling at around 50 m.p.h. missing me by inches. a small section of the map so you can see what I mean.

Probably the biggest problem I faced driving was the road condition. There were so many blind dents and dips at the side of the road it made the RV handle like a piece of jelly. heaving and yawing it's way along the road. Lots of adverse cambers etc. made it very difficult to drive, especially when passing lorries and coaches

From the 15 we then took the 55 from Lom down to Sogndal and crossed on the Ferry to meet up with the E16 to Flam

More private than it first looked, especially a bit later in the evening. Only problem Deb says it never got dark and she had difficulty getting to sleep. Cured by a flight blindfold.

Forgot to say, we did not buy anything in Flam. Although Norway in general is expensive. We did not mind paying local rates for Bread and milk, but because Flam caters to cruise ships more or less exclusively, even the Coop Shop prices were at least double from normal village shops. A loaf of Bread was usually around £2.90 but in Flam was £6. Likewise bottled water was usually around £3 for a Gallon bottle, was over £6.50 in Flam. I assume these were the kind of thing Cruise people buy to take to their cabins.

Pippa my dog spent most of her time, standing on the engine cover, leaning on me and looking out of the window.

From Flam we went on to Bergen. Stayed in an Aire type place. Around £16 but our cards would not work in the machine. So ended up putting note in the window and not paying. Aire was very basic car park in front of a Winter sports arena (ice hockey we think). In a very run down area populated by lots of immigrants, so did not feel very safe. Tried to go into Bergen next day, but again our cards would not work in the Tram ticket machines and as it was a Sunday could not get any help from local shops as all closed. Machines do not take cash, so we gave up in the end and drove away. here is a google earth link to the aire, you park in front of the building on the right, where all the cars are in the middle in this old picture. Will take a 10 meter Motorhome just.http://goo.gl/maps/0bWpm
