we did pay quite high about £300 return but did give correct size plus trailer. No they did not check.

I think I mis-understood that:sad:-----I thought that was the Bridge from Denmark to Sweden:sad:

Would still be interested to know what the bridge costs:001_smile:

Hope all is going OK-----not heard for a while:sad:

RV packed up, Scooters on the trailer and all ready for the off Saturday Morning. Catching the 8.00 a.m. Ferry from Dover to Dunkirk. Spending 1st night in Brugge and then wind our way up through Scandinavia into Norway. We are all so excited, had to get packed tonight because we are going to our Grandaughters 2nd Birthday Tomorrow.

when I read your 1st sentence I thought your RV had broken down . we went over the bridge 3 years ago in a euro-box towing a trailer and even though we were under 3.5T they charged £150. expensive but worth doing once in your life time as it is a magnificent spectacle. if there is a next time for us I think we will do it on a motorbike.:001_smile: you will have a great time there is plenty of wild camping and everybody seems to speaks English. enjoy enjoy:thumbup:

we are on the Ferry mid channel on the way home. Looking forward to seeing you all at the show. Wi fi is painfully slow. But will be able to give you some good info on our big adventure when we get home.

Hi All,

Back home now and will get photo's etc uploaded over next week or so. We travelled by DFDS from Dover to Dunkirk. They charged around £300 return for a 10 meter RV with a 3 meter motorcycle trailer. No one checked the size or weight and included was 5 tickets for the First Class Lounge. I would seriously recommend this option. They always seem to overfill their boats and there is not enough normal seating. People are sitting and sleeping on the floor. First Class Lounge has recliners and Tea Coffee facilities.

We spent our first night in the Coach Park at Brugge. Cost £29 Euro's with free Dump and Water. Stayed again on our return home but used the Aire across the other side of road from Coach Park. *Note not the one next to Coach Park.* Reversed the RV into space, big enough to get both sides slides out and the rear overhang went over the Grass, arrive early as there are only about 6 spaces where you can overhang the grass. Electric Hook up but only 6 amp and very sensitive. We were there when the temperature was around 38 C. The main Air con tripped it on its own, but the bedroom one would run. Cost 27.50 Euro's free dump but water 50 cents for 100 litres.
Second day on leaving the Coach park I managed to catch the back corner of the RV on a wooden post as I swung round (yes I should have known better) Bit of damage and not a good start to our journey but ho hum, forget it and get on with the adventure. More battle scars to come i'm afraid.

Here is a google map image of the Aire in Brugge. The top area has changed in that there are more islands and less spaces making it a much nicer site now.

Brugge is only around 1 hour from Dunkirk and the Aire is only 13 Euro's from October to March. Well worth a visit for the Christmas Markets and only around a 10 min walk into the old town centre.:001_smile:

Spent second night in Munsterland Germany as previous post.
We bought a Bropass Tag for all of the Scandinavian tolls including the Oresund Bridge. The 1 year contract (cancelable at any time) is £12 for the tag. Now I am not sure if I was dishonest, I was not trying to be. I told them it was for my Private Motorhome Home but did not volunteer any sizes. So I was charged £36 each way on the Bridge by driving through the Autopass lane, also had several small charges for Motorways around Oslo and for one short ferry crossing. The tag made life easy, just drove straight through Autopass lanes and the charge is then made to your Credit Card. Because I took out the tag for a private vehicle, I don't think they charged me the large vehicle rate for any toll.

Probably our worst stopping place. It was just off the Motorway in Sweden. We had driven until late and I just came off the motorway and found this layby. Did not understand until later that the sign saying Kontrol Platz, means it is like a Vosa stopping point. But no one disturbed us other than the traffic.

Keen to get to Norway, we did not not stop in Denmark on the way up. Also had not bothered to get any Danish currency. We also sped through Sweden up the E6 from Malmo to Oslo. at last we arrived in Norway on day 6 of our journey.

We stayed on the E6 up through Lillehammer where the Winter Olympics were held a few years ago. Up to a place called Otta and then turned left on route 15 with a stop at Lom

The kids also went on a zip wire, Debra messed up taking the pics, but if you look carefully on the right of the picture you can see the zip line they went down.

Mountain roads at this stage not to bad, a bit narrow in places and lots of cruise ship Coaches speeding to get everyone up and back down the Mountain.
