We are going up to Birmingham next Friday for one of our Grandchildren's 2nd Birthday. We have booked into Clent Hills CCCsite Anyone have knowledge of this one ? . Thought it would be a nice weekend away with Me, Deb, Ashley & Jessica. My middle daughter has invited herself with her two children ( 3 & 18 months) to come up with us and stay in the RV as well. Don't think it will be as peaceful a weekend as I thought. Do love the children to bits, but nowhere to hide in the RV when I get tired. :001_smile:

Yes Paul we have been there - last time we went there we were in a 22ft caravan and we were put on one of the pitches on the left as you go in - they were seriously sloping to the extent the back of the van was nearly touching the ground and the front needed extra blocks to be able to level it. I think if you are on one of the central pitches you will be OK . It is probably some 10 years since we were there and have not been back since. Like most club sites the facilities are good - and again like most club sites it is down to the wardens how good your stay is

We had our grandkids with us along with a parent recently, and to avoid the cramped space we got a tent for them, much more peaceful. Yes theres the expense of another pitch to pay for, but it was worth it.

So now we have extra room available for whenever they want to stay (site space permitting)

Love the idea of throwing the 3 month & 18 months old in a tent!

Make sure you leave a baby monitor in there:laugh:

Paul, as per my PM to you last night, I visited the Clent and Wolverley CCC sites today 'cos I will need somewhere nearby to park the Meridian when I pick him up, at least whilst I load up etc....and it won't fit in my present drive.:lol::lol: so one of my reccy's:wink: and thought best to keep it in the thread for future reference.
Bear in mind I have yet to drive an RV, but I have 45 years driving experience and my car is just over 5m in length.
Firstly, the approach roads are very narrow on the Clent hills and some acute turns, but I approached from the North and you will be approaching from the South. Nevertheless, it is a busy 'country backroad' tourist area and where there are hills, lots of bends.:001_rolleyes:
On the site itself I think you have no worries with the overhang from trees on the approach, but there are tree overhangs on some pitches.
Spoke with one of the wardens about accommodating my 39' RV and she said "Oh we've got our first one of those coming in this week-end" (they have been there since April) but they think there are a couple of pitches will fit you, one with your 'back-end' overhanging, but under trees (I'd take a chainsaw if you have one, or pruning saw)
But then I noticed the entrance to the site, bye reception building, is very narrow! Of course I stupidly didn't take measuring tape, and the Warden didn't know the width.....but you might want to phone and ask for a measurement:001_rolleyes:

It's the wall on the left that could be your biggest problem, once past that the road dips and curves and goes round and under the tree.

The one bend in their approach road.....just worry about the country lanes before that!
Warden asked me to remind you it is wise to arrive after 12 noon to avoid meeting caravans leaving in opposite direction on their narrow drive. After 12 YOU have right of way

Will be interested to hear how you get on at Clent and if you think I would get in?

Wolverley CCC ....MUCH easier approach and you would have no problems at all! There is a 90 degree right bend on their approach drive under trees, but the trees are trimmed high and there is a wide mown grass verge on the left at the bend you can use to turn. I am fairly confident I will be able to use Wolverley, but I don't think I would try Clent.
