On Thursday evening, we are off across the water, using the tunnel. I have read up all I can and watched a few You Tube videos and understand, about LPG. However, has anyone ever taken the RV that way ? Any comments, pointers, help etc would be appreciated. Thank you.

It does say there is a box you have to tick if your vehicle is converted to run on lpg and that if you have you will not be permitted to use the eruo tunnel ??? I take it yours is running on petrol alone ??????

Sorry supermike, we can't help. Like daybroken, we have Log conversion so can't go. Hopefully someone else will be along to help.
By the way...... Note for everyone using Dover, I came through there yesterday for work and noticed that where you used to be able to park along the sea front, the council bar****ds have put in a 6'6" width restriction. So you can't get down there anymore.

By the way, have a great time away Mr & Mrs Supermike.:D:D

We're off through the tunnel next month on our first proper RV outing. Used the tunnel loads before with car and trailer and it is quick and easy. Found out this week though that the day we go is the day they bring in the new exit border controls so expecting a few delays.

Thank you. I note their maximum width is 2.55m without mirrors and ours is literally that. How did you find the width in general, any problems ?

Our Coach has the big chrome bus mirrors but the area to watch for us is the exhausts one each side as the carriges have a raised walkway both sides if you take your time you will be fine

How about taking plenty of pictures or better still a video of the entrance and loading? That would be a great help for any others of us interested in going the tunnel way across the water SuperdoopereversohelpfulawayagainagainagainsoonMike obviousley for the required amount of shiney new guinnies ;););)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Enjoy your travels, hope the weather is kinder to you than it is being here :cool:

Super Mike
We did the tunnel a couple of years ago & the main drama for us, was our mirror width going through each of the doors, we were running the N/S wheel along the raised kerb which gave me 2" as I passed through each door section. I had previously moved the mirrors in by 4" each side after getting someone who had been on the tunnel to measure their RV's actual width -mirror edge to mirror edge.
I think the wheel track width of the American chassis must be a little wider as a passenger coach that was ahead of us was not against the N/S walkway.
I watched a couple of you-tube videos before going as they gave me the idea for lining up straight to begin the entrance to the train.

Regards

Arthur

Gulf, I doubt I will be able to take pictures, 'cos I will be steering. However, I will try and scrape off some footage from the front facing three cameras, which feed into the CCTV hard drive. Will have to take the construction book with me, otherwise, by the time we get back, the data will have been over written.

Thank you Arthur. I have already looked at You Tube, but it is all based around trucks, which are narrower then us.

If you are concerned about your mirror width -as i was- I could go to ours & measure N/s wheel to O/S mirror knowing that there will be about 2" clearance on the doors from that O/S mirror?

Regards

Arthur.
