the good thing about such cards is you can buy when the rate is good for us and store on the card, also if lost or stolen the amount on it is the only amount you would loose haveheard though ( once again hearsay) that it is not accepted in lot of fuel stations especially so at the automatic fuel pumps - found that out when i needed fuel one time and the nearest pump was just off a toll route, luckily a french gentleman who was using the airline used his card for me and i gave him cash - dont normally run fuel down low but it was a strange vehicle to me that i was taking to spain for a family member and although the guage showed between empty and quarter the fuel light had come on. This was some years ago though and things could of changed by now, the french were very good at refusing uk credit/debit cards at one time which is why the caxton was good as if you had the euro one it stored the amount in euros even though you bought them in pounds

Yes Sue, use ours all the time when in Europe. The only time you cannot use them is on some toll roads and Automatic petrol pumps. This is because they do not know how much you are buying and so block a lump of money to make sure it covers your spend. Any balance is released, but can take a few days, which means you cannot spend it in the meantime. They are fine for petrol when you can pay at the till though. You can top them up with a few taps on your putter or iPad, wherever you are with an internet connection, or by phone. Current rate is €1.37 to the pound. There are no charges when you use it, because it is already in Euros. We have one that is shared with No.2 son, when he is off on his Scouting stuff, so we only have one lot of Euro's on the go at a time. It does work out that daddy is paying, but he is still only a student and his mummy would give me a slap if I denied her baby. :nerd:

All in all, excellent. (y)
