Brugges & Amsterdam - anyone been in an RV?

Thinking of going across the channel for a long weekend and quite fancy either Brugges or Amsterdam, or both.

Anyone have any knowledge of Aires over there that can accomodate an RV (36')?

Last time we went to Amsterdam, (by car), we parked in a metro station for a few days on the outskirts and used the train to get in. Much rather go in the RV, so any advice gratefully accepted.

I keep reading about Xmas markets and the like so wondered if these can cause problems finding somewhere to park?

Hi Paul,we stayed at camping memling in brugge last year at 32ft we just made it for length on dedicated motorhome pitches and were given adjacent pitch for tow car and slideout[at no extra charge] in end of june.the cost was cheaper than the aire at the coach park/near train station, although length could be a problem on the aire. your length at memling would be ok if you were allowed to park on other areas[drop them a line,they were brand new with us due to low season]fresh water and dump station at gate was easy.site great for access to city.Also visited Ghent and liked that city as well,stayed at a site on a leisure/country park[sorry can't mind name]but tight for 36ft on their site roads[posts and lamposts all tight to road and pitches]as well their hard standing being small slabs layed in rows onto grass.Alan

I think the camp site you are thinking of is Camping Blaarmeersen | Ghent it is a lovely site but as you say it is very tight for most units - the staff speak very good english and there is a good shop on site - one thing we found all the electic hook ups appear to be centralised and we only had a 25m and a 10 m with is and just made it !! when we were there last the shrubbery was well overgrown - on the back of each water point is individual water hook ups - we found that on the day we left !!!
