Last time we left Ludlow site we turned left on a49
And got stopped and detoured by police bad accident. Yes you’ll be ok on this nasty little side rd.
Liars...narrow lane that turned into a low bridge after ten dodgy miles. Escaped via farm tracks no passing places.
What a coincidence left Ludlow site yesterday but turned right for Leominster..... within 2 hundred yards police stopped traffic and said go down this lane it’s ok... liar....we got stuck 8 times with a chance of getting stuck in ditches. Rescued by a nice man who thought we were a horse box??? He trained horses for a living. He was the best escort ever . Went way ahead and parked all cars in passing places. A godsend. The lane was so narrow in places our door step hit the opposite bank and scooped up a bucket full of earth. Horrible noise but no damage as far as I can see. Next time I’ll ask the police if we can sit it out :finger:

We did need directions in London. We said excuse me , can you help us with directions to a gentleman passing by. At first he looked irritated, and then we saw a smile in his eyes as we asked him for directions to a tourist spot. I then noticed that he was dressed very posh, and had an aristocratic accent. He gave us the directions, and we said thank you. He was very courteous to us. I think the humour in his eyes was probably Americans lost in London. Getting lost can be a lot of fun, Dave and I meet many interesting people out their.:D:D:D

You are indeed rare Americans, I read somewhere, that only 15% of Americans have even got a passport. But I suppose your country is so vast and wildly different by region, you don't need to go anywhere else.

We love tourists, they go home at the end of their vacation.
Plus tourists spend lots of money travelling. Great for the economy of all places people travel to. I grew up hearing my mother say that travel is the best education you can get. I totally agree with that.

There is a lot to see in america. It truly is an amazing country. Different accents, different cultures. I have met many people in campgrounds that are touring the USA. It is nice to see people having a lovely time here, but I think you are all lucky to travel to all those countries with an RV instead of an airplane. Pretty cool.(y)(y)(y)

I've never seen the chap and I'm a delivery driver in London! ;):D:giggle: Seriously, I deliver absolutely everywhere and anywhere in London, from the very central City to all points of the compass radiating outwards. It's a big place but the worst traffic is getting from Kent to London each day!!!!!! :(:mad:

I grew up in South London, with a 15 min bus ride to central London. When I was a kid, you could get a red rover ticket for 30p that let you use all buses and tubes. So knew london like the back of my hand. We have the occasional job in london and I now hate the place. Have sat for 2 hours in a traffic jam in commercial road to get to a job at the end of it. 2 hours for 1/2 mile. Trouble is , kent is now becoming a suburb, so that is almost as bad. I know the lanes very well, so can still usually move around. But even they are getting busy, as more and more houses and people come here.

Moved from smelly dirty Kent to beautiful Dorset wish I’d done it years ago. Rush hour here is like non rush hour in Kent. No litter and people talk to you...

London was very busy ,lots of people, but we thought they were friendly, especially on the busses. I wanted to get a seat on the double deckers upstairs front seat, but it was always fully occupied. I thought that would be great to ride around London with a front upper view. Oh well, next time I will go to the busses starting point and just stay on for the whole trip. With a video camera.:rofl::rofl:

When you live and work in any city it can be irritating to have so much congestion, but when you are on vacation and visiting another area of the world it is really exciting, and I love city areas. I love to see the different people and how they live. I have always liked riding the local bus systems to get around these places. The people riding these busses are usually the regulars, and they have always made us feel welcome and chat to us about their life. Plus they give us advice about where to go and what to look for. Really cool.

Rochester is a nice place! though it turns into a war zone after 10pm Friday and Saturday.
I avoid most city centres in the evenings! If out I prefer to be in a rural location at a country pub. I do (occasionally) venture into my home town (Maidstone) in the evening if I'm heading home from a restaurant but, drunken pr*cks wind me up and, if challenged, I'm likely to respond (or run away!)
