+44 then leave off the first 0 even if lost in this country, most people including vets and police would know to leave the +44 off in this country and put the 0 back(y)

Worth mentioning that if you have her tagged then police RSPCA Vets etc will have all your contact details from the web site as well

also a good idea is an alternative contact number on the disc
Knowing you travel alone apart from your little girl, what happens if you should become ill and need hospitalization here or abroad? who would see to your little girl
or your mobile is stolen or lost

Just trying to cover all bases so if worst ever happens you know she will be fine and looked after.
My plan B
With having rescue dogs i have permission to put their number on all my dogs tags as an alternative contact - they would get them and look after them if needed till i was well the bonus being they have contacts with other rescues in most european countries

in many places abroad now they use a dog collar tag with the dates of the rabies jabs etc .
they will scan .
there are safe houses for stray dogs . but have as many guides for authority as you can as many will have the dog put down .
we always carried extra collar tags just in case ours lost one while away.

There is only so much space on the tag so I am having her name and my two phone number, and on the reverse that she is microchipped. Then I think I will sort out the alternative contacts with the microchip database . Good idea ?

Over here you should now have your surname, 1st line of address and postcode and contact number on tag.
Look forward to meeting the pup .

Our little Jack Russell is chipped and we decided not to use the Microchip tag as we felt it immediately gave any thieves a heads up to get a chip removed. Likewise the dogs name on the tag gives thieves and advantage . Post code and phone number should be the best option but as you travel how about vehicle reg and phone number ??

best not have post code or any part of your address . specially if going abroad . there are teams set up to find get steal any address,s in uk of folk abroad , with another team in uk ready to move and use the info.
your dog might be safe but your house not.
its more common than you might think .

Where I work one of the girls has a dog which constantly runs off so now it wears a GPS gadget on it's collar which sends the whereabouts of the dog to an App on her phone. Not cheap but amazingly effective. Haven't lost the dog once since it started wearing the gadget. I'll ask her for the name of the system.

I agree with the "two numbers" idea, the number of someone land-based who would take responsibility for organizing to sort the dog out if you are out of action for any reason. When I took my dog to Spain last winter his collar had my UK number on as well as the Spanish number of a close friend. The dog is most likely to be found by a "local" who would not speak English and also would quite possibly not call an overseas number.

Thanks Jaime - I had started looking into those, so it would be useful to have some info about which ones work well :)
