At Lo Monte from 15th, and then Almafra (under duress) from the 6th Oct. Would not go to La Manga even if someone paid me I'm afraid. Calpe is great but I'm too big!

This was Calpe's reply to my question below it by the way:-

Yes, we have pitches with 90 and more m2, but as our campsite is a small one the problem are also the streets because the turns are not wide enough for 11,2 meters.
We are very sorry.
Kind regards
Reception Camping CalpeMar

Thank you for your reply, it was that your web site quoted 120 sq mt pitches which are normally more than enough for our 11.2 mtres?

Regards

We spent all last winter on Almafra and have been there to many times now, where we stay in Calpe there are 4 pitches with a minimum length of 9 metres but you have to book them months in advance, there in also a new motorhome only site down by Aldi which I will check out while we are there, we will go back to Almafra for Brits day in November, what didn't you like about LaManga cause if you go after the end of Oct it changes its like living in a ghost town but till then all the Strips open lots of restraints and bars them Oct 31st you see the lights go out.

The shanty town appearance of the main street as you drive in, for one. We drove down to the end by the water, came around and straight out after collecting our passports.

I have to disagree not all Spanish sites are like that. Some for sure, but we steer clear of them. La manga happens to be an example to excess, Steptoes yard in spades. So much rusting junk. A few miles up the coast you have Marjal for example which has a huge influx at weekends of Spanish but much more civilised than La Manga, busy yes, noisey yes, but dirty and scruffy NO.

Anyway still interested in Calpe access?

Thats because its new, Almafra as lots of Spanish if you don't like LaManga, Have you stayed on Almarfa last winter a Winnebago owned by Dave had a Hammer break his windscreen cause he complained about the Spanish partying then a english guy hung himself in Feb this year theres a few gipise english families living on there and you got to lock everything up or loose it, But thats Spain, we are 10m and get into Calpe ok same as Almafra ignore the oneway system

Did not mean the "new" Marjal... the "old" one. You dont have to tell me about Almafra. I do not stay there as a rule, indeed have only visited by car. However my best mate loves the place and puts down roots. Why have a touring RV and stay in one site for months on end? You might as well rent a static and fly out!
So we will pop in for a couple of weeks. I prefer Orange Grove but the entrance is so tight that I clipped my paint 2 years back. I shall go up next month and see if its any better. I will also go into Calpe and check things over myself I think, thanks for the advice, not sure if my extra 1.5 metres will be a problem.
