Bad news for any RV"ers in North/South Ireland, the budget ferry company, Celtic Link, has been swallowed by Stena... That"s an awful lot of routes they now have a monopoly on, expect prices to rise... I used Celtic a few times, Rosslare/Cherbourg, great service at a good price. Up here, if you want to go Belfast/Birkenhead or Belfast/Cairnryan, expect to pay big, in fact, I could sail Ireland/France cheaper than I can NIreland/England... That"s one of the reasons I can"t attend any RV meets, it" cost me about £1200 return on the Stena Belfast/Birkenhead boat. Never complain about your boats out of England, boys "n girls, you"ve got it cheap ! :crying:

I seen that too, the only positive note is if Stenna add it on there will be 2 (Stenna & Irish Ferries) to cash in Tesco vouchers. I try to collect as many then exchange X3. Makes the travel costs a little more easy to swallow.

Sorry to hear that... Seems like they've got you by the short & curly's :crying:

Why don't you bring your RV over here and leave it. Then fly over with sleazy Jet and Europe is your oyster.

Been there, done that. Didn't really work, had to drive over with car and family, limit to what we could take over /back, maintenance issues and not being able to use her weekends. Far rather have her under my nose at the back of the house where I can 'exercise her regularly and keep her in tip top condition . I remember one time unloading the car, in England, boat booked next am and the bloody ignition switch broke, got it fixed, but it was nightmare, only just made the Portsmouth boat. We love France in the RV, so I've just gotta bite the bullet. This year we're booked 4 weeks Dublin/Cherbourg then head down the West coast, La Rochelle area, can't wait

We book using Irish Ferries, I booked last week so about 2 weeks in advance for next Fridays trip, Holyhead-Dublin and return. We are a 30' with a car on a trailer as well at 6m comes in at £606.00 all in but also because my parents travel quite often as just bought a holiday home over there they have set up on the Irish Ferries 'Frequent Traveler' scheme this gets a 20% discount so ends up at £484.00 return so all things considered I thought not too bad, if I had a more regular work load so I knew when I could get time away I could of booked earlier, when I was looking a month ago it was MUCH cheaper but that is the price I pay for being busy!!

The ferry size table for the options was for 'motorhome upto 12m then the trailer was trailer upto 8m so same price even if we were quite q bit longer!
