Hi ,
We’re off to Spain in January in our 11 mtr Monaco.
We arrive at Santander and have 2 days to get to Alicante and am after any route and stopover suggestion’s.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is our first time abroad.

If your arriving about 1600 I would drive to the large free aire at Palencia

Can't help after that as I have never driven from there any further than Madrid before heading to Portugal.

Just had look on search for sites, (excellent app)
And this one just off the A3 looks ok.

Not enough to get the T-shirt
A8 to Bilbao then AP68 to Zaragoza then
A23 to Valencia then A7 to Alicante.
AP68 is tolls but cheap and easy drive.
A23 free dual carriage way.
I usually just stop in any service station along the way for the night.
This route is easiest just cruise control all the way with plenty of Aires to pull in to rest.
2 days driving long hours.

We are usually headed towards southwest Spain / Portugal - so cannot help with your routing
but
echo Steve's overnight stop arrangements

many more opportunities on the principal routes / autovias - both at service stations and parking / picnic areas

P.S. what are these 'tolls' thingys ?? :) :)
(NEVER met one in Europe - go out of my way to avoid them (y)(y) )

Generally I am the same with tolls; avoid them like the plague but, I have found that Spanish toll motorways are very reasonably priced and are kept in good condition.

Remember to drive on the right hand side of the road....

And keep an eye out on your speed.. Loads of sneaky speed cameras now...
