Apologies for the delay in posting this (poorly dogs etc) but here is the latest from the organisers of Retrofestival, but please contact us for any booking queries as we are dealing with those with Eventree

A MESSAGE ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC AND OUR 2021 FESTIVALS
At this point in time in these difficult and uncertain circumstances we want to assure our customers, traders and exhibitors that whatever happens in the weeks and months ahead, you will not be left out of pocket.
We are still actively planning for Retro Festival Newark on June 11/12/13 2021 and Retro Festival Newbury on August 13/14/15 2021. However, we do recognise that it is difficult at this stage to predict what is likely to happen and what guidance will be given by the Government in the coming weeks and months so we cannot be certain that they will go ahead.
If Retro Festival Newark 2021 does not go ahead we will offer the option of a booking transfer to Retro Festival Newbury 2021 or a refund. Details of how to apply for the refund will be set out here if the decision is taken to cancel Retro Fesival Newark 2021.
Looking further ahead, decisions on the options available if Retro Festival Newbury 2021 has to be cancelled will be considered at that time but will include a refund if requested.
Please note too that our previous commitments for booking transfers from 2020 will still be honoured.
Thank you for your continued support and please rest assured that whatever happens, we will not let you down
If you have any queries about these arrangements, please contact us at info@retrofestival.co.uk and provide as much detail as possible (including the booking reference number where appropriate) but please do bear in mind that it may take us a few days to respond.
The Retro Festival Team

Many thanks

Hi Jan & Rob.

Anyone that had paid for either or both Retro shows in 2020 and did not have a refund still have credit for either or both Retro shows this year.

We will all have to wait to see what the powers that be decide what we can do.......

Many thanks

Hi Adi & Cassie,

This is probably outside of your remit but I'm going to ask anyway!

We have a surfeit of vintage/retro stuff that we're looking to shift. It covers WW2/1940s kit & equipment, 1950s kit such as drape suits, winklepickers, brothel creepers, circle skirts & dresses, stilettos, both original and retro, CDs etc. I looked into a stall at Retrofest but, at £200++ I've got to sell a lot of stuff to just break even. This gear is all personally-owned stuff, not stall-holder stock and so I need a cheaper sales option.

Do you know if it's possible to set up a stall outside my RV and, if so, is there a reasonable amount of passing punters to make the venture worthwhile? Ideally I'd be looking to sell everything, a one-off sale, to provide income for future adventures.

I'd appreciate your opinion please. Thank you.

In my opinion I don't think you'd get much passing traffic unless you are on the front line. We would also need to check with Retrofestival that they would be happy to have you selling this way, or if they would want a pitch fee payment (which I think is fair - otherwise no one would buy a pitch!) - I have no idea what they would think without checking with them though

But if you are in the back field I doubt you'll see many people outside the club so wouldn't be worth it

Let's see if it goes ahead then we can ask for you

Thanks

Thanks Guys. It's no big deal; I've had most of the stuff for 40+ years so another couple of years won't hurt. It's in excellent condition, too good to chuck away but too "specialist" for charity shops!

Try selling on Facebook, it's getting really popular as no fees - there are also lots of groups who may be very relevant to your style who may allow selling within them if you join?

Sue started selling “tat”, that I was going to throw out, years ago, and now actually earns some good pocket money.
It does take a bit of tie and a few photos.
She sells a lot on these neighbourhood sites, as local and a lot of people collect, but also Facebook and eBay.
She has had people call up and the items been for sale so long she’d forgot it was still advertised !
You really would be surprised what people will buy.
My Ma got ride of a load of clothes ( born 1927) so 40/50’.
Sue had people offering silly money !!!
There are loads of sites and shops just dealing in this era .
Regards
Grumpy

In the past there has been general public wandering behind the front line, and complaints have been received from members.
So for future shows, signage has already been made to indicate the area behind the front line is members only.
