Norway in early march

Is it good idea to travel to norway end Feb/early March? Looking for snow and winter experience? Partner likes to be in our RV rather than lodge etc, anyone with advice would be amazing.
Thank you.
You could try to pm paul&debra I know they went that way a few years ago, good luck.

Now I know there are some strange folk that own RVs, but to actually go looking for snow, that takes the biscuit (y):tmi:
I seen snow on TV an it looks cold an wet with folk breaking bones riding a couple of planks called skis :lipssealed:

Lol don't knock it till you try it!! The scenery is stunning with snow and always great if manage to not break my leg skiing :)
Think might miss March trip unless go in sprinter van and lodge or is that cheating

I lived in Norway for a year when I was in my late teens and learnt they have lots of stills to make their own alcohol, nearly died of alcohol poisoning but they do know how to have fun :tmi:
Beautiful country but must admit I spent the cold days huddling in bars by the fire :D

Sounds ideal!! Love a fire but not the alcohol poisoning however all had days like that. Hopefully I'm older and wiser but not always :)

They probably make their own alcohol because alcohol prices are sky high in most of Scandinavia??

The highest prices & the highest rates of alcoholism, it's also because they have such short winter days, I've never been there in Winter but I have been in Finland in June when the sun didn't set......that throws your body clock out, sitting around the BBQ drinking beer thinking "we'll turn in when it gets dark", then other people start waking up & you realise it's already 8 o'clock in the morning.......

My experience of driving in Scandinavia (Northern Denmark one February) is that the roads are cleared efficiently & quickly when they get snow, they're far more geared up for it than the UK......I was working near Aalborg & we had around 18 inches of snow overnight, by lunchtime the following day even the minor roads were passable. Had to clear some snow to get the caravan out of the yard, then drove to Calais for the ferry home.Screenshot_20241211_110535_Facebook.jpg
Apologies to Blair @CARAVAN HATER for the photo :D
Winter tyres are compulsory between certain dates.

To add my penneth... and I may be completely wrong, but somewhere in the back of my addled bonce, isn't there a legal requirement to have 'winter tyres' in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland?
