Just a couple more questions about our forthcoming trip to Spain that hopefully some of you can help with.

Firstly, when we have travelled on the ferry to France we have been told to turn the lpg gas off (re the fridge). This isn't a problem on a short journey but what do others do on the longer journey to Spain?

And secondly, does anyone drink the tap water in Spain? We've always previously used bottled water but I've read that the quality of tap water is generally good though can vary from one town/city to another. We have a filter on our kitchen tap that we were hoping might make it possible to use the mains water there rather than having to carry 5l bottles of water from the shops (it can be a bit tricky to balance when carrying them on the bike!!)

Thanks!

Irene

We have travelled many times on the 23 - 24 hr crossing, and alway`s turn the fridge/LPG off..

As long as the fridge/freezer is pretty full.... If not ice down some water filled plastic bottle`s to fill any void...

and it will be OK..

We use bottle water for cup`s of tea etc.... but camp site water for all else.. (y)

We have drank Spanish/Portuguese water with no ill effects but we have a filter system.
I haven't got around drinking water from a graveyard yet but guess it will be ok..

as said water ok , but should you find a no potable . dont use it .
you will find many fonts out in the country. lots have a plaque on them saying what the water quality is and when it was tested .
best dont have frozen food in the fridge . buy it there . other things will keep .

I've heard of people plugging in on the boat
over the years it has been possible sometimes . depends where you end up on the boat.
mind if you ask before getting on they will usually say not possible .

If you keep the doors closed on the fridge it should keep everything good enough for the journey.

People say you can but try and do it? Think its only for the refrigerated trucks or their trailers so the diesel engines are not left running?

We always use bottled water for drinking & for the dogs also.. A couple of years the dogs had some water out of a supposedly drinking tap on a site, and within a couple of hours they all had bad stomachs ... Now we don't chance it...
