It didn't even cross my mind - but visited the Mov-in-law last week - who lives in Dagenham (East end of Laandun dont ya know!) and decided to take the Ram!

Got a very 'polite' letter from TFL today explaining I had breached the Low Emission Zone and hadn't paid the £200 daily charge :crying:

Fortunately - the letter was a 'warning' - and explained that the issue of a FPN would result next time - which is a fine of £1000 :cursing:

Checked the TFL website and it covers basically the whole of London! So - dont turn in off the M25 if it affects you!!! ....Schoolboy error and didn't even consider it!

Won't make that mistake again. (....or visit the mother in law:lol::lol::lol::lol:)

I didnt think diesel rams would fall under the lez rules either. I know my rv is definely not lez friendly. Next time change your number plates for those of a petrol one or use the lez laws as an excuse to buy an srt10 viper powered ram. Being a law abiding chap myself the srt10 seems the logical choice. Its a bad country that chooses to fine folks £200 to visit their mother in law.

The LEZ and the congestion charge are a big con. I found out last month that two of my sales guys pay the congestion charge in advance, even if they don't actually go into the congestion zone area. It's a "Just in case" they do wander into the zone approach.

I wonder how many people do pay these charges when they don't have to simply from fear of landing an even bigger fine:blink:

There is little logic behind some if not most of the thinking behind the LEZ - if you look at Landies ( I have a bit of a vested interest in them ) 300tdi truck or commercial hard top has been banned for a few years - a 300 Tdi Disco fell foul of the LEZ from last January I think - however a 12 seater 300tdi Land Rover Safari is compliant I think until 2015 - same basic vehicle same basic engine therefore logically the same emissions so why is one compliant and the other not ??????
