Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Been on to them, they say that as my C has expired and is still going though medical but they have sent me a car one anyway....

Yea, so what's the problem - "you can drive an RV on a car licence" - so says johnpengers - or did he say "you don't need a licence":rofl::rofl::rofl:

seriously, hope sorted for you shortly

Rang them today and yes still the same reply, the doctors are very busy and your locked in a strict queue so that everyone will get done in order.
I asked how long the average application took?
She said there's no telling how long as each person will be different

Funny enough I have rang dvla up this morning as I STILL don't have my license back.
Dvla say still in process WHAT I said it's now been 4 months.
So if we are in order you should get yours back maybe a few days before me as I'm now 4 months 1 week.
Must send the renewal off 6 months early next time :banghead:

Well . . .

Sent my renewal 'SignedFor' on Feb 12th
Returned - - - - - - - - - - Feb 21st

HOWEVER - three years on and still do not have a V5 for the Smart
which I bought 'SORNd', sent off the V5 and waited ....
Two months passed then I received vehicle importation forms with
the explanation letter that it had been "Permanently Exported"
The vendor swore blind he had only SORN'd it, and it had his
address in Gloucestershire.
Although I proved with a copy from their website and the original V5,
they would not have it and so I gave in and completed all the forms.
I told them they had the original V5, and stupidly I had not expected
such incompetence, so had no copy of it, so was not able to give them
all the inside leg and decibel measurements. They said 'no problem,
we have all the details on computer'.
They then required me to prove I had paid, if any, 'VaT at import', so
had to get forms from HMCustoms, completed and return.
HMC gave it a clear bill and again all paperwork (PDF copies) went
to DVLA for re registration.
All this time it was MoT'd and taxed - on line, (and showed as such on
the DVLA website).
Months later, instead of a V5, they sent me a letter, which was the same
as the original - right down to the date on the letter (a year before!) -
saying it had been permanently exported and enclosing all the forms to
re-import it. .:banghead:
Spoke to the head of their department (getting to her was a marathon)
and emailed her all 'correspondence' and previous emails etc. She
agreed that it should have been passed and said she would have it
corrected.
A month later, a large brown envelope from them - hooray . .
but no . . the same bunch of importation forms and the same covering
letter repeated. with out of date date ! :swear:
I think a mentally challenged Chimpanzee would be more likely to sort it,
so I gave up and now watch "Life at the Zoo".

Half the trouble is your talking to a computer and as smart as computers are they are as thick as shit and are only as good as the info fed in to them so if some prat has put it's been exported then until your mentally challenged Chimpanzee comes along with a little bit of intelligence and removes that marker the next mentally challenged Chimpanzee will just believe what story the computer tells them.

Hope that makes sense

You try telling them that -

I have spent interminable hours on the phone explaining that that
can be the only rational explanation 'that someone hit the wrong button'

but -
they are infallible - "because the computer sys 'no'"

The problem comes when you have had a long discussion with a
reasonable human, who then, unfortunately, passes it on to the eejit
who
a. doesn't listen
b. can't read
or thinks (and I use that term loosely) they know better, and just goes
through the motions blankly following their screen - methinks perhaps
the Queen's English is not their native tongue.

I normally find the welsh person is fairly polite it must just be those mentally challenged Chimpanzees that live and work around the DVLA that are the problem...

I was returning two items to Amazon last weekend and was on the phone for around half hour to their call centre in South Africa it all went though without any problems and they called me back so no call charges.....
If a big company like Amazon can do it, why can't a Government organisation like the DVLA manage it. Trouble is there is to much red tape now a days, everything needs to be done in triplicate and then done three time more....
