Decision...

Been given the heads up, by our neighbours here about a Classic car race at Angouleme... there is free parking for campers (Not Cars..) up on the Ramparts looking down on the race circuit... from Frid Night till Sunday night...

Or a couple of days in Cognac... doing the tasting thing...

Oh... what a dilemma.... part of me says go tasting and the other part go watch the racing...:001_rolleyes::sad:

My answer is do both - but what ever you decide don't miss Cognac - a really fascinating place and very different than we anticipated.

I'm with stunette,

RACING !!!!!

Cognac after or while watching! You can always go visit Cognac the racing is not always on, whichever you choose enjoy it! We are still stuck here being messed about with jobs and start dates, I'm starting to worry we might not even get away before Xmas so really envious of all you who are already travelling but also very glad for you :thumbup:

While the racing is on I bet you get a roaring trade with the ice cream :lol:

Seems all my plans "Flop"....

Went and found the Aire at Cognac, all spots filled with what looked like long term campers... one spot left for maximum of two hour stay.... so had a quick mooch round.... not overly impressed, mainly very hilly and I am knackered from pushing wheel chair up steep little hills..

So we found a nice little (We think) Free Aire about two and a half miles from the city.... will stay here for the night.. we are the only ones at the moment and space for 5 big-un`s... And a superb little restaurant along side.... No views or shops,,, but very peaceful.. (y) Grey Dump, Elsan point and fresh water... as said it looks like it is free.. No signs about payment or collection of money... :001_smile:

Dont think we are going to get to the racing.... too big... too hilly... and you can only see the actual races with a ticket.... dont know how they implement that in a big town with racing on the streets...:001_rolleyes:

Anyway, going to see tomorrow, but does not look promising...

So will look for an Aire in the vicinity for tomorrow, and if no joy or all full we will find a camp site for a couple of days,,, and land at Parc Verger on Monday instead of Tuesday or Wednesday... :001_smile:

Showing 33 deg in the sun,,,, and the heat is draining... :crying:
