I have not yet stayed in a pub carpark. But I would look on it as being responsible by the pub by effectively encouraging people to not drink and drive. Anyway its hard as I find it spills out of the glass as I go round corners! But seriously pubs are dying and anything that can keep them all open must be good, a lot of pubs do not have enough "locals" to give the landlord enough income.

A pub stop in Shrewsbury has just applied for planning permission to build housing on their car park because it is underutilised......................

remember alot of the public are already jealous that you have an rv/m,home .
its the seeing it stopped in the carpark of the pub overnight they dont like .
plus as i say allowing rv,s and m,homes to camp in the car park sort of breaks the laws on campsites etc . think its the caravan and camping act from years ago.
live in your dream world if you want but folk do get rather jealous and annoyed .
i know its happening as i hear the l;ocals down here make the comments .
in my village is a famous rock where a local hermit lived . lots do stop in our local pub carparks , but the locals hate it . also hear it in other places .
I love living in my dream world Alan. In the 70’s 80’s 90’s when I used to travel all up and down the Devon and Cornwall coast in my VW camper surfing and stopping in pub car parks at night. Always had a great time with the locals and landlords always happy to have me stop in the pub car park. Why would they not be. I was Putting money in their pocket. There always jealous peaple about, I don’t think it’s because you park in a pub carpark with your motorhome. If they could do the same they would.

but you hit it on the head. yes a vw style surfing wagon they love them . but a big m,home /rv they hate them.
i,m on your side really just saying what i hear in the pubs .
i used vw,s for years ,i ran a vw specialists here .
there really is the same mind set as whats happening in spain etc . if you look posh use a site .
time and mind set as changed . unfortunately its our age that are doing the most complaining . the jealousy is definately from the ones that didnt enjoy life back then and arent now .
mind in spain i think its expats complaining ,they never had campers and used hotels in spain ,then bought and are annoyed tourists park in front of their views etc . same mind set as the locals in the uk pubs .
after all i know locals in spain that supply us with water or let us use their washing lines etc . been stopping in their village for decades . some i knew as kids , i was when i went with my parents .
it was really just a warning that i can see it being not safe parking in some places .

I think if you’re taking up the space for three or more cars in a car park, then it’s only fair to eat and drink in the pub.
I’ve downloaded an app. Park4Night. I tried it out for places I already knew when we were living in southern Spain and it worked great. Also on the road trip back.
Be interesting to see, and hear how it works in the U.K.

We have used Britstops. Some of the stopovers do have some facilities, electric, water ect.
We stopped in one pub with electric on the way back from Chester, had a nice evening in the pub and stayed a second night as they had an authentic
curry night the next evening. They were most welcoming.
Second m/home pulled in late and left early next morning, did not even check in with the pub.
The book shows what facilities and access places have. We would like to try a vineyard stopover.

We joined last year and have used several times, always been in the pub and had at least a drink, most times a meal.
Just nice to be able to stop when you feel like it and feel safe !
