Just a note to say, if you are staying overnight en route to Calais/Sangatte, particularly in a UK-registered vehicle, you need to carry out some pretty careful checks for "extra holidaymakers" before you set off towards the channel. I occasionally drive a truck in Europe and we have a very rigid set of checks we have to carry out before returning over the channel. Check your lockers, check the roof, and get down on the floor and check the chassis - they will get into the most unbelievable places to hide. It's a £2k fine per illegal if it happens and you get caught. Don't be fooled into thinking that being a couple of hours from the channel will be far enough out, I've had people trying to get into the (UK reg) lorry further out than that before. Hope this helps.
