Not sure if I’m in the right part hopping to go to France over Christmas with the Motorhome/trailer (18m ) so need as much info as possible thanks Mike
 
Learn some key french phrases and keep a phrase book handy as you’ll find that in many smaller villages and rural areas, they don’t speak any English. The French are so pleased if you make an effort though and will go out of their way to help if you do.
 
Before you start thinking about using the campsites, it's worth calling or emailing as most sites shut at the end of September. Some do stay open but are quite few. If you are thinking of doing lots of miles on the toll roads, then it could be worth investing in a toll tag. We have been through France at Christmas lots of times, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. (y)

Not at Xmas, they'll be closed. No Guinness in September last year when I stopped there "we're closing in three weeks and I'm not putting a new barrel on for that.

TBH, I won't ever go back, not cuz of no Guinness , but for me the place has changed, they were so unwelcoming and constantly passive aggressive about everything, starting from the moment I arrived

TL: Good afternoon - you didn't book did you?
Me: Yes I did, I emailed and had confirmation.
TL: oh, well you didn't say it was an RV, did you!?
Me: yes I did.
TL: oh, you didn't say whether you wanted electric!
Me: yes, I did and I don't.
TL: oh. Well t's my wife that does all the booking, I don't pay any attention to that.
!!!!!!!!

Got all pissy when I told them their lager was too warm.

Got passive aggressive about what table we chose to eat at and kept wittering on about it thru the meal.

It's full of cliquey full timer brits.

Expensive, I suppose all of France is but there are many cheaper and nicer places to stay.

45 minute walk to town on main road with no real pedestrian provision.

Nothing there or around unless you like fishing.
