When we go away, YET AGAIN & AGAIN, we alway take our Sky HD box which is used with our Oyster dish. It alway has been a fafffff, to crawl around unplugging it all and reconnecting it in the RV and then putting it all back when we come home.

However, I have found a link on Sky which allows an easier path. Firstly you need a another box which is permanently fitted in the RV. It has to be the same type as you have at home ie, HD, Plus or plain box. I got our extra HD box for £16 + pp from Fleabay. When you go away, simply take your card from home and put it into your RV box. Then log onto the following link to pair the card to the box.

Easy peasy and when you come home, then pair the card back to the home box. I have spoken to SKY, and have been told that you can pair back and forwards as much as you like.

Hi Mike, I am not sure but I think you can get another card from Sky for £10?? so you can have another tv in another bedroom or the like, but you just put it in the RV and leave it there????? I might be wrong but I am sure there are others on here that can say if true or not, Regards Garry Flatpackchicken

Yes I already have another box and card in the bedroom. It's still a faff to disconnect it all etc and £10 per month equals £120 per year, which can be circumnavigated with this procedure.

What do you do about the TV in the bedroom??.. The new sky box doesn't have an RF out.. You need to get a modulator in order to connect to the coaxial..

Have you tried this out yet? I was under the impression that in order to pair the card to box the system uses the phone line and not the satellite, as the satellite is one way it doesnt take return signals. You would then need to ring sky and they can pair via a downlink, they may smell a rat if youre doing this process repeatedly. Hopefully the sky person you spoke to had the correct knowledge.

Of course if youre filling a form in online and then they just send a downlink you could be on a winner!!!!!!

Yes, tried it and it works, the signal is sent via the satellite.

Easy, make sure the box you get off fleabay, for the RV, has an RF2 out. Most sold on there are old enough to be ok. The TV in the RV lounge is fed directly from an HDMI cable.

I have a spare box which is part of the multi room package.. but the new ones don't have the RF, so I have a modulator which in turn connects to the sky box & in turn has an RF out...

Is this not worth a guinea off of my next invoice..??? :001_smile:

Nope, because I knew that already. However, you can get a discount by telling me how, you control the Sky box from your bedroom without the RF2 and a Sky Eye. :001_cool:

Very good, but that's cheating. Only technical answers win discount. So, you still owe me one Guinea. :001_tongue:

    Be carefully with new tvs
Some new tv's don't have analogue tuning so when I put it in the bedroom
You can't tune it in from the rf out on the back of the sky box
The only way around this was to put an old dvd recorder in the bedroom
    And tune it through that
So beware when buying a tv for the bedroom

Have found mirror on back wall of bedroom wall with bedroom door open works well as it reflects the signal to the sky box in the cab.
