Default rv fridge recall

I'm not saying that it shouldn't be done all i am saying is that dometic have been forced to do this, if you have a suspect fridge it should be done.

Default DOMETIC UPDATE

After fourteen weeks i have at last out of the blue had a local caravan service centre arrive and do the modification on my fridge ,what i found interesting was that according to the engineer somebody had already done part of the modification but had not finished it!
Anyway at least i should not go up in a puff of smoke now
Just hope me cooling unit does not give up as i bet that is a lot of dollars
It would be interesting to know how many more units Dunc has done in the year since he wrote on this thread ?

Cheers
SB

I have fitted a few cooling units over the last year. Some out of dometic's warranty period, one just due to old age (14 years old). The reason why the engineer that came said that some of the kit had already been fitted is probably because most of the dometic fridges that i have seen recently already have the thermal cutout disc fitted from new, but the rest of the kit isn't fitted!
