Default beware of the dvla

Just received my renewal for this years road fund licenceas you all know it, the tax class is private hgv for a fleetwood reveloution weight 15419kg gross £165.00 per yearmy renewal form v11 now classes it as only hgv £650.00 per year this is an increase off £485.00 per year.Rang dvla to ask why they said sorry it is a mistake but you will have to send all your docs includind log book motc insurance etc to your local office which is in Leeds with an explanation letter from yourself as to what has happened. They will then raise a new log book with classification private hgv on it - by the way, the one at I have at the moment already has this and they will then tax is at £165.00 per year!!! I asked the man from the dvla will my new log book come back definitely as taxation class private hgv and he assured me it would, but did stress he did'nt know how long these type of vehicles would be taxed at this cost. So just be careful all you rv'ers out there this could be a sneaky dvla ploy to increase our road fund licence!. If I can scan the new tax v11 form and put it on the forum I will.

That is soooo typical of the DVLA - they make a mistake and consider it is then up to you to prove them wrong.

Rick

I know that you trust us all but remember that there are scraping systems which harvest web sites for images etc and it may be that your V5 with name address and vehicle reg is not a good idea...
