Default LPG is it full????

Good evening, here we go with a newbies silly question
When we're filling the LPG tank, and pressing the red button in on
the forecourt pump, we assume the pump will stop automaticaly
when the tank is full, as it does with petrol or diesel would that be right?

Yes thats right

You will get less in hot weather and more in cold weather due to the gas expansion. If you have a 120lt tank you will get about 100lt in. I am quoting on engine gas not household.

Thanks for that, yes it was the engine tank we were asking about.
It was a bit scary so we only put £30 in till we'd asked the question
Now we know we'l get it filled up

depending how efficient the tanks safety cut-off valve is the pump will either stop fully or, like mine, it may 'stutter' and slow right down.

either way you are around 80% full and no attempt should be made to fill it further as this is to allow expansion of the LPG.

But if you have 300 litre capacity like I have you'll have to go in the shop and ask them to restart twice as pumps cut out just over 100 litres so need to be reset

Default Two big tanks.................

We've all got big ones (two in fact)tanks that is before somebody gets the humpLike said before, the pump will need resetting after approx 100 litres, domestic tank has a little bleeder valve which is good practice to open slightly before filling, when the tank has reached its limit the lpg will bubble out.Sometimes I've forgot the valve and the lpg has stopped on its own.Still good practice to open it up though.

Regards, John P

We have four little road gas tanks total 200 ltrs and one house gas. the house gas fills and automatically stops. The road gas slows right down, we check our gauges and keep an eye on the mileage so we know roughly what we will need to put in. You can also fill up petrol and gas at the same time if there are two of you and as said before they stop at 100 ltrs. We ran ourselves out of gas when we first got this rv and then filled up to see it would stop/slow right down when at 80% it did but we were nervous first time
