Default Towing a RV

We have been reading the threads on here and have noticed the thread on towing or not as the case may be.
How do you tow a RV if it gets stuck in the mud or anywhere else?
Normally you cannot tow an automatic can you?

It's not a problem to tow any automatic for short distances as in recovery to a safe place
In the case of being stuck on a field you would normally have the engine running and in gear......So would not affect the auto at all . The thing to be wary of is towing forward you must be sure that the tow rope or chain is clear of the front valance on the body work or damage could be caused towing from the rear is usually done by hooking on to the tow bar.

Like you say,you do not tow an automatic, but i would say it is OK tow out if you get stuck in the mud,but anywhere else, you would have to be pick up and tow away.

towing out of the mud is fine. and usually in the handbook it will tell you how far you can tow and what speed to keep below.
anything further than a few miles means taking the propshaft off though
