Smile RV Fresh Water Filters

I'm not sure how many RV's have installed fresh water filters that require their cartridges to be regularly replaced?

Our Fleetwood Discovery for example has a Flow - Pur filter installed see picture.

Does your RV have an on board filter fitted and what Make / Type is it.

Anyone know a UK RV dealer selling Flow-Pur filters?

Mick

Red face We use the throw away type in a jug unit

We have britas units in the house and the RV .. They work ok for us, we put tablets in the holding tank when we refill as well.

Ous has one under the kitchen sink. It only feeds the kitchen tap. Manufaturer fitted, it's a Scotch one. It has the same logo as the mob that make sticky back plastic. Replacements seem ok to get, not that I have replaced it yet, but have one in readyness.

Thanks Steve for your reply, I have also had a PM from Duncan at Star Spangle Banner who has a few Flow - Pur filters. Thanks Guy's

Flow - Pur state on their web site that they do NOT ship out of the USA however the person who answered my email said they would ship me 6 filters to the UK for $46 plus the filter cost. Replacement filters for my filter housing cost $16.99 for 2 filters.

ours was fitted with a Hydro-life inline filter, or at least the by-pass hose was fitted, to its own tap but one of the click on pipe fittings was damaged so i changed it for a General ecology nature pure filter and also replaced the rather poor quality american tap at the same time.

we've used a nature pure for 5 years. have drunk water through it from the tank, and never had a problem. replace the filter every year. works out cheaper than bottled, but of course more expensive than tap.

When we first bought our RV in the States and talking to our seller (private sale) about one thing or another and replacement water filters were mentioned they just said," Just pop along to Wal-Mart they will have them in there and be a lot cheaper"

We found this NOT to be the case, I have only just learned the model number of our cartridge after I emailed the photo shown in my original posting to Flow - Pur in the USA.

I also know of of one RV dealer who has a large list of RV spares and accessories on eBay. Amongst the list are several replacement water filters titled, American Motorhome RV Carbon Replacement Water Filter now from the picture one or two look similar but at £20 - £30 + P&P charges who wants to make a guess?
