The devastation of the US RV industry has probably led to a lot of heartache when it comes warranty work. Contracts are always with the dealer not the manufacturer, but if the dealer does not have the support of a manufacturer then I reckon dealers have an excellent cop-out and the RV owners lose out and have to cough up.

Thanks for bringing up this thread Jim.

My Monaco Windsor is now 9 years old and would be out of warranty anyway but I will have a look under at the tank just in case.

Anyway it is not the end of the world to have to weld a diesel tank, I have done it many times on my trucks.

Regards Pat

Hi Jim not as dangerous as it sounds as long as you have the tank well vented and preferably flushed/purged beforehand,

Diesel is much less flammable than petrol and needs a wick to burn, that's why when lighting a bonfire say, you usually soak a rag in diesel and set light to it rather than just throw diesel onto the fire to get it going.

I'm sure Olley will confirm this

I would not dream of trying to weld a petrol tank under any circumstance

Regards Pat
