It's a shame no one can see the entry as it's got the winning numbers for the lottery this weekend

I think I might copy the content to a word document, delete the Blog and then paste to a new Blog entry.

Cheers for the comments.

Don't worry too much........just pm me them bloody numbers

Damon Daybreak Ownership Moderated Blog Entry
Posted Today at 06:02 PM by bingo_66
Thought I would start a Blog on the RV we have and hopefully some of this rambling may be of use to someone.

It all started when I was tasked with buying a heating element for the range cooker we have. Looking on ebay was a big mistake as i quickly leaned that my attention span searching for cooker heating elements is about 1 minute but looking at RV's for auction runs into hour's!

Athough unsuccessful at the first attempt of bidding on an RV, I was successful the second time. So, I now find myself the proud owner of a 1 owner, 2004 Damon Daybreak 3270 with 30,000 miles on the clock and in very good condition for it's age.

Most first timers (The ones with common sense) would settle for the vehicle as it is and use it for a year to see if they like owning and running a motorized static caravan. Unfortunately, after years of being in a job where everything is cleaned every single day (whether it's used or not) and everything has to work perfectly, I am unable to heed to common sense and have started a program to "update" the vehicle (The Fire Brigade has got a lot to answer for).

First job on the list - Get the thing starting properly. I've had some issues with poor starting but this looks like it has been resolved with the fitting of the correct battery.

Next, replace missing remote controls for one of the televisions and the air con unit. This has proved a lot more difficult than I expected. Having got rediculously expensive quotes from parts companies in the UK, I decided to order from a company in Lithuania trading on ebay (Remocon_world). Well over half the price of others and from order to delivery - 5 working days. Would never have dreamed of ordering from a company in Lithuania but desperation had set in by then.

I wanted a set of spare keys for the RV and again frustration set in. I eventually found a company who are a couple of miles from me (Keyways of Hale Barns) that could do all of the keys except one (Blank key not available). Purchased the remaining key blank from a company in the USA trading on ebay (Chaest). From order to deliver took 4 working days and cost £6.25 with delivery.

I've also purchased a 20 litre fuel jerry can from Screwfix for £21. The idea is to have this in case we are running low and the only nearest petrol station is a motorway services selling Diesel at £37 million pounds a gallon. I figure 20 litres will get me to a petrol station not owned and run by Dick Turpin.

Replaced the dry powder fire extinguishers this week with AFFF foam extinguishers and put together a comprehensive tool kit. Also purchased a pair of step ladders from Costco that fold up to the size of a 5 feet length of soil pipe, very clever stuff.

This afternoon put a 10% deposit down on having the two settee's, dinette, double bed head board and all window pelmets recovered in two tone leather. I will put images on my profile page when complete. Had some very stupid quotes and it has taken several weeks to find the right company at the right price.

Before I forget, I still haven't purchased the cooker heating element that started this whole thing off. When I get a minute I'll order one!

But some of the entries are in red!!! Perhaps auto censor as they are trade names?

Regards Pat

OK lets see if this can help anyone to sort out what the problem is . This is as I view it at this end

1/ of the people that have posted on this thread only Jim, BrianJoJosh and Pete and Shirl are showing that they have a blog.

2/ If I click on the 'Blog' within personal details area then I can access Jim and BrianJoJosh 's Blogs but not Pete and Shirls which I get the notice I posted saying access refused etc

3 /I cannot 'see' any other blogs to click on which includes Bingo 66

so is this a subscriber access issue that needs tweaking or is it something that needs to be tweaked within the Blog settings by the blogger ?

I get the same if I try to add a campsite, permission refused. Guess their are members and there are members.

After causing all this fuss you're gonna kill me for this one but I'm unable to add a picture of the Daybreak in the garage section either I've noticed that a picture hasn't been added since 3rd January 2011.

Sorry, I'll shut up now
